Shohreh Shadalou wins 2020 Robert S. Hilbert Memorial Optical Design Competition
We would like to congratulate Ph.D. candidate Shohreh Shadalou for being named a winner of the 2020 Robert S. Hilbert Memorial Optical Design Competition. This annual competition celebrates exceptional optical design research projects by students that use Synopsys’ optical software solutions. This competition is open to all college students in North America working toward a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate degree.
Shohreh received the award for her project titled, “Tunable LED-Based Illuminator.” She used Synopsys’ LightTools software to design a freeform optical system that enables dynamically tunable illumination with high efficiency and uniformity in a compact optical package.
